I have been proudly working for Medway Youth Trust since March 2009.
Having spent the professional placement year of my Sociology Degree working as a teaching assistant in a Pupil Referral Unit, I knew I wanted a career where I could help young people. After graduating, I found myself doing administrative work but I never gave up on my long term goal. After being made redundant from a manufacturing company, I started as a Trainee at MYT and have since completed three qualifications related to Career Guidance and Youth Work.
My role as a ‘Careers Adviser’ has often involved much more than offering impartial information, advice and guidance to young people. I love to motivate, inspire and ‘go the extra mile’ for the young people I work with and their families to ensure positive outcomes.
Outside of work I love to spend time with friends and family, and with the wonderfully unique family I have that means there is never a dull moment!
